Scars

May scars in your gut heal you

Like that’s why they were sent

From rumbling worlds and powdered, antsy tents.

To make you identify

Relief and peace

After a storm, or a jellyfish sting at the beach.

Cicatrix on your bones

Were carved

To make you dare to be

Who you wanted to be

When pain was enough

Thresholds put the lid on trembles.

Sitting in the bed,

Writing poetry

Sipping coffee

Even when

Your feet can walk

On the insane carpets of the sea,

Choice-full calamity

Imagining sky-wars in misery.
